The Episcopal church’s official stance since 1994 has been to be fully supportive and inclusive of LGBTQ+ people, and we have community members in our congregation at Christ Church. As the inside front cover of our bulletin reads, “Whether you’re a long-time member or a newcomer, a person of deep faith or a seeker, young, old, gay, straight, a little bit country, or a little bit rock and roll, you are welcome at Christ Episcopal Church. God loves you “just as you are!”

While the First United Methodist Church of Rolla does not have a creed that is supportive and inclusive of LGBTQ+ individuals, there is a large supportive life group within the church. The group, Our Way Forward, is working to make sure LGBTQ+ individuals feel welcomed, supported and included in the church. Their mission statement says “We are disciples of Christ, proclaiming without reservation God’s inclusive love and unconditional grace. Our faith inspires us to create a community of safety and spiritual sanctuary for those who have known the pain of exclusion or discrimination. We welcome and affirm ALL, celebrating our differences in sexual orientation, gender identity, race, ethnicity, age, religious background, economic status, family configuration, developmental or physical ability, education, and any other difference, real or perceived. We will work in our faith journey to promote unity as we find OUR WAY FORWARD together toward greater love, understanding, and mutual respect.”
As a life group, our focus is education, study, mission work and fellowship as we work toward inclusion and welcoming of all! For more information, please contact: Karen Daily (573) 465-7292 or Pamela Timson (573) 364-8753
Presbyterian church members strive to live by the statement “Open Doors, Open Minds, Open Hearts!” Their services are livestreamed on their website.

The Unitarian Universalist fellowship of Rolla is a lay lead group that has discussions on spirituality and issues that face the local community. Members of the UU strive to live by 7 principles, the first is the inherent worth and dignity of every person. Service is Sundays at 11am, though many members come as early as 10:30 for coffee and fellowship. You can learn more about the group at their website or check out their Facebook page.
